Originally a dairy farm owned by the Holstein family, Barkeldine has provided holiday accommodation since the 1970’s. At that time ‘The Bails’ or milking shed was converted into a large Cottage suitable for self-catering accommodation, the Homestead offered Bed and Breakfast stays, and the owners lived in the Old Managers Quarters sharing the Homestead living quarters with their guests.

Ron and Pat Crooks have owned and operated Barkeldine Farm Country Retreat since August 2004 and offer comfortable self-catered holiday accommodation in the Cottage, with the Old Managers Quarters offering an additional queen room for large group overflow. The property is ideal for 2 or 3 families holidaying together, and also a great venue for couples, friends, family gatherings, small group retreats and special event celebrations. Many guests just keep coming back.
